Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml contains ‘Fluorouracil’ that works by interfering with the growth of genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. This prevents the cancer cells from multiplying and growing and eventually kills them. Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml is used as chemotherapy for colon cancer, oesophageal (food pipe) cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer.
Take Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, vomiting, weakness, loss of appetite, increased risk of infection, hair loss, diarrhoea, decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets), mouth ulcers, blisters on fingers/feet. During the first few weeks of treatment, the skin lesions and surrounding areas will feel irritated and look red, swollen and scaly. This is a sign that Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml (cream) is working. Most of these side effects of Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
To treat your condition effectually continue taking Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not stop Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml midway. Talk to your doctor before taking Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml if you have allergies, a metabolic disorder called DPD (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase) deficiency, heart problems, one marrow depression, kidney disease, liver disease, and treatment with chemotherapy or radiation inform your doctor. Avoid taking Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml if you are pregnant or breastfeeding because this Raciwel 500 Injection 10 ml can cause harmful effects on the unborn baby.
