ESZOPICLONE contains ‘Eszopiclone,’ a sedative-hypnotic drug. It treats sleeping problem called insomnia. ESZOPICLONE increases gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical substance in the brain that works as a neurotransmitter. This chemical substance slows down the brain’s activity to produce a calming effect, thus helping you sleep. ESZOPICLONE decreases the amount of time required to fall asleep and improves sleep maintenance.
