Desloratadine is an antihistamine<\/a> used to relieve allergy symptoms<\/a> such as watery eyes<\/a>, runny nose<\/a>, itching<\/a> eyes<\/a>\/nose, sneezing<\/a>, hives<\/a>, and itching<\/a>. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine<\/a>) that your body makes during an allergic reaction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist<\/a> before you start taking desloratadine and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.<\/p>\n

Take this medication<\/a> by mouth<\/a> with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.<\/p>\n

If you are using the rapidly-dissolving tablet, allow the tablet to dissolve on the tongue<\/a> and then swallow, with or without water. Do not remove the tablet from the blister<\/a> pack until right before using. If you are using the liquid form of this medication, carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device\/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.<\/p>\n
