Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) are the biologically active components in medications that provide the intended therapeutic effect for treating, preventing, or diagnosing diseases. These substances are either synthetically produced or derived from natural sources and are combined with inactive ingredients called excipients to form a finished product like a tablet or capsule. The quality, purity, and safety of APIs are subject to strict regulatory oversight, including adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), to ensure patient safety and drug effectiveness.
