Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that inhibits the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby killing bacteria. On the other hand, Dexamethasone belongs to the class of steroids that inhibit the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling in the eyes. Thereby, it reduces redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.
